Enter the labyrinth: Experience the official “Past Future Memory” mini-game

I’m thrilled to announce that yesterday marked the official launch of Past Future Memory (The Game), the first interactive web game created directly by Meteor. Designed as a dark, psychological companion piece to the release of the new album Past Future Memory, this project bridges the gap between haunting musical concepts and classic old-school gameplay.

What is the game about?

The game is a tense, psychological retro game that plunges players into a shifting, claustrophobic maze. Stripped of context and guided only by the cryptic thoughts of an NPC known as “The Oracle”, you must navigate the darkness using a restricted vision that alter your perception of time and space.

To escape the maze and find salvation, you must gather three specialized keycards representing the core pillars of human consciousness: Awareness (Yellow), Reason (Red), and Will (Blue). But you are not alone. Aggressive anomalies stalk the corridors, triggering visual glitch effects, CRT distorsions, and an intense “panic zoom” camera shake whenever they lock onto your position.

The response since yesterday’s launch has been incredible! Players are actively conquering the maze, recording their fastest times, and claiming their rewards. As a musician venturing into game development for the very first time, this project is a deeply personal extension of the synthwave, dark synth, and cyberpunk aesthetics that define the Meteor sound. It was built to challenge your spatial memory and immerse you in the psychological weight of the album’s themes.

Past Future Memory is a very special and personal synthwave, retrowave and darksynth album that reflects different psychological and emotional stages I went through over the last two years.

The songwriting and production process only took place during specific moments when I felt mentally capable of working on it, always trying to give my full attention to both the musical and conceptual details. Because of this, the project initially took shape as a series of sporadically released singles, with the goal of eventually completing a collection of six tracks.

However, when I finally sat down in the studio to work on what was supposed to be the last song of that series, something unexpected happened. Instead of finishing the project, I ended up writing six additional songs. Together with the five singles that had already been released, they naturally evolved into a full album.

The final result feels deeply rewarding. Every song feels familiar, as if it were fragments of my own memory, or perhaps moments and emotions preserved within harmonies and melodies. I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed creating it.
